Starting the new blog

If you're looking at this page with a remotely critical eye, you're probably piecing together that this site is AI generated.

This is a bit "meta", but it's meant to be. I'm experimenting with "vibe coding" (ik, so hot rn) through Firebase Studio. I've been a Firebase user and fan since they were acquired by Google in 2014, and Studio is a new product I just wanted to play with.

The task of creating a "blog" or personal space has always been a bit daunting, since I don't really like talking about myself, and would rather spend time building things instead of talking about things I've built. So it seemed like a good opportunity to explore what AI App development can do, while letting Gemini take the reins over structuring and writing my personal content.

It's true that I didn't build this site from scratch, and tbh it's far too bloated for my personal tastes (NextJS, Tailwind, etc) - I generally prefer building dependency lean/free vanilla web apps - all the content is real. I'm not making up or embellishing anything in the blogs, I really do this stuff. If you want to see a site I did build, check out my DNS app
